Time For C.A.M.P.

August 3-9,2008

C.A.M.P. stands for Constructing Assured & Motivated People, something it has done for nearly 53 years. (This Summer’s session w ill be the 53rd annual  C.A.M.P.)
Motivational in nature, it is also highly spiritual, though completely interdenominational It is also interracial. Through the years C.A.M.P. has received its share of accolades: From Parents Magazine, Successful Meetings Magazine, Ohio Governor Gilligan, President George H.W. Bush, and from several Ohio mayors,  However, the camp directors, Dave and Janny Brizius, consider the most meaningful honor is the fact that so many young people return year after year (as long as age allows) and then return after that as volunteer staff--paying their own way often from as far away as Alaska and the Marshall Islands to “pay back” for what they received at C.A.M .P.
C.A.M.P is one week only--always the first full week of August.. (making it August 3 through 9 in 2008.) Campers sleep in log cabins in the Tar Hollow Resident Camp with staff to camper ratio of at least 1-7. Meals and many programs happen in a large rustic lodge. A beautiful little lake accommodates boating, fishing,  and swimming activities. The camp is staffed with plenty of qualified life guards for all waterfront activities
Other areas of interest from which campers may choose several include arts and crafts, sports of all kinds( including archery., fencing and rappelling), band, choir, journalism, dance, drama and more. Each area of interest is geared for developing self esteem
Young people grades 6 -9 are in the Junior Camp while those in grades 10 - June HS Grads  are in the Senior camp. Both operate simultaneously, getting together for most meals and for special programming.
The camp fee is all-inclusive. (No need for campers to have any money at camp) and includes room, board, Camp T-Shirt, Camp color photo, all treats, field trips, and costs for any other incidentals. The all volunteer staff enables the fee to be just $195.00. (If paid in full by June 14- $175.00)
There is also a $10.00 per camper discount for multiple siblings in the family attending. There will be no discounts on any cancellations after July 1. Prior to July 1, the full fee is refundable should the camper be unable to attend.
2008 C.A.M.P. Registration blanks are now available on-line at   www.sfacamp.org. Registrations are accepted on a First come/First served basis. It is suggested that those interested not hesitate too long as the camp regularly fills up by mid July.
For further information contact the camp directors at (937) 365-1388.
